Participatory videos for participatory approach

Mar 23, 2024 | Local Activities

In the course of the local activities implemented by the partners among the methodologies used, in order to foster active participation on the one hand and to encourage dialogue with policy makers on the other, was the use of participatory video.

Participatory video is a methodology aimed at creating an audiovisual content made through the participation of several people who share an idea, a point of view or intend to express a proposal. It represents the medium through which to reach a wide target audience in an immediate way and, above all, a tool for people to make their voices heard. As part of the activities organized for the project, the use of this methodology was shared since the days of the kick-off meeting in Malta, especially during the conference at the University where a number of interviews were conducted to discuss issues related to youth work and recognition of practice; active participation; and dialogue with policy makers.

During the seminar in Italy a specific session was dedicated to the creation of video and participatory content, the working group also tried its hand at making clips and interviews for the creation of the final video summarizing the project activities.
