In February 2024, I embarked on an unforgettable journey to Cagliari, Sardinia, as a participant in the Youth Work Seal Erasmus+ project. This opportunity came to me through the “Dimera” youth club in Marijampolė, which had always been a cornerstone of youth engagement and development in our community. When I first learned about this project, I felt a mixture of excitement and curiosity, eager to see what this new adventure would bring.
The project aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of young people involved in youth work, and I knew it was the perfect chance for me to grow both personally and professionally. From the very first day, the project was a whirlwind of activity. We participated in a variety of workshops, discussions, and team-building exercises designed to equip us with new strategies and tools for effective youth work. The sessions were led by experienced facilitators who shared their insights and guided us through the complexities of engaging and supporting young people in our respective communities. Working alongside peers from all over Europe, we exchanged ideas, shared best practices, and formed connections that I believe will last a lifetime. The sense of friendship and mutual respect that developed among us was truly inspiring. It was empowering to see how our collective efforts could lead to meaningful change in our communities.
Returning to Lithuania, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and motivation. I was eager to implement the ideas and strategies I had learned and to share my experiences with others in the “Dimera” youth club.
